Expressionism
The Expressionism art time period began in 1905 and ended in 1925. This time period embraces art, music, and literature. It reveals an emotional and spiritual vision of the world. Expressionism uses vivid colors, distortion, and 2-D objects. The brushstrokes seen in Expressionism are known as agitated brushstrokes because they do not appaear steady. This time period includes some very well known artist such as Vincent Van Gogh and Edvard Munch. Their well known pieces include "Starry Night," by Vincent Van Gogh and "The Scream," by Edvard Munch.
