Group of Seven
The Group of Seven was literally a group of seven Canadian men who were artist. These seven men include: Franklin Carmichael A.J., Casson L.L. Fitzgerald, Lawren Harris Edwin, Holgate A.Y. Jackson Frank, Johnston Arthur Lismer, J.E.H. Macdonald Tom, Thomson Frederick, and Horsman Varley. These men were landscape painters and they began their "group" in 1920. Many people didn't come to like their work because they believed the scenery was ugly and unworthy of being painted. Some members of the group traveled to the artic to find different views of landscape while some went farther across Canada to see if the view changed. Their aren't any specific characteristics to their work it was just done to portray the beauty of your surroundings.
