Op-Art
The Op-Art art time period began in 1964 when it first appeared in the Time Magazine. This type of art is known because of the optical illusion it presents to the eye; most pieces appear to be moving or breathing. Op-Art uses careful position of lines and shapes, while also adding color that helps to fool the eye once again. More pieces are black and white rather than color because it helps for the illusion to be seen more easily. One of the key artist during this time includes Philip Taaffe. One of his famous pieces include "The Ornament Strikes."
